ABOUT LISA
As a neurodiverse artist, Lisa is inspired by the natural world, particularly the colours and textures of plants and wildlife, from large animals and birds to tiny insects.
Lisa's original art includes realistic paintings that are created in a personal and intuitive process, starting with hundreds of photos that she takes on walks in the local area and beyond. Her works have been showcased in galleries and exhibitions both locally and around Australia.
"My work is intensely personal and autobiographical with each piece representing something found. This can be an object, the play of light on a surface, or it could be a combination of colour and texture that shapes my perceptions. Some of my artworks have deeper meanings, but many are the result of a compulsion to capture and share the beauty and the joy of discovery in a moment in time. There's a growing distrust of beautiful things as we wonder if it's been created by AI, but my art is shamelessly focussed on beautifully real things regardless. These are my discoveries. These are the things, places, textures and colours that stopped me in my tracks and I hope they remind you of moments where something inspired you, be it an object, an image, or the story behind it. That's what's in my art, because those moments are precious ... joy is necessary."
